This blog is to inform and promote Endometriosis Awareness. In addition to writing about my life experiences. I hope this can be helpful to others.

What Is Endometriosis?
In endometriosis, displaced endometrial tissue continues to act as it normally would — it thickens, breaks down and bleeds with each menstrual cycle. Because this displaced tissue has no way to exit your body, it becomes trapped. When endometriosis involves the ovaries, cysts called endometriomas may form. Surrounding tissue can become irritated, eventually developing scar tissue and adhesions — abnormal tissue that binds organs together.
I am not a doctor but I thought that this was the most helpful definition to describe what Endometriosis actually was. It is also where my surgeon did his training. I am sure that there are other places out there in cyber space that might say things differently but it is a start. This is what I have. This is what I live with everyday. Pain or no pain every woman's body reacts differently to the disease. I unfortunately have pain and I had three surgeries to hopefully correct things on my insides. There is no cure and all treatments may or may not provide relief. Every woman's body is different. Do your research and hopefully we will find a way to help all women.
